Records, 1819-1848.

The records are a miscellaneous collection of papers relating to the erection and operation of the factory, including correspondence of William Almond, documents concerning water power for its operation, a broadside for the sheriff's sale in 1842, and various agreements, bills and receipts. Included is an estimate of the operation of a cotton factory on the Brandywine in Delaware (1822), which is almost certainly the factory of Du Planty, McCall & Company near Wilmington.

Manuel Eyre, a Philadelphia merchant of Quaker ancestry, was born in 1777. His father, Manuel Eyre, Sr., (1736-1805) was a shipwright in Kensington and a colonel in the Contintental Army.
